Perimenopause. Advice please?

Hi. I have been going through the Perimenopause for many years and started getting symptoms in my late thirties that included Insomnia. I'm older now and the symptoms are horrible including nightmares, night sweats, and anxiety, some low mood and PMT is awful. I have fibroids and get checks for my gynaecological health.
I am trying Menopace to help and I think it has. My symptoms get worse when I have PMT and before irregular periods. What are your views on HRT please? . I have anxiety. Any advice would help. Thanks.

Hi Kate,
Not sure if your dr is on board with bio identical hormone treatment or you have access to alternative docs that know the inside and outs on menopause and hormone testing and replacement but its something you could consider. I've been on bio identical hormone replacement for 6 years. Pretty much right after my periods ended at 55. If I knew back when i was in my early 40s what I know now I would have started replenishing my depleting hormones back then. If done with the right dr with the right hormones hormone therapy can be a very positive thing. I was fearful starting out too and found out the more information I read most of the negative awful side effects of hormone replacement still comes from a botched long outdated womens health study that used synthetic hormones. Its too bad to this day some docs are still prescribing these same synthetic hormones only to find the same results. There is actually benefits of keeping hormones replaced. One hormones deplete, all kinds of fun stuff happens in both men and women. I'm 61. my husband is 68, were both on hormone pellets and will continue to stay on them. Hope this helps. Feel free to message me if you have questions.

Toria,
That's why a doc versed in women's issues is so very important. Some women who have had cancer do very well with just supplementing testosterone. Every woman is different along with their individual needs. One size doesn't fit all and that's why synthetics fail miserably. If the right amount of the right hormones can improve ones health and bring normalcy back in their life that is a very good thing.
