Perimenopause and heat intolerance

Posted , 10 users are following.

I'm finding that I'm really struggling with the heat since perimenopause hit.

I can't stay out for too long before I start to feel faint. Is this normal for peri??

I was sat in car earlier for about 20 mins with all windows and doors open and still felt like I was going to pass out.

I used to love the sun and could tolerate heat but not anymore. It makes me feel so ill.

Is this normal??

Thanks

Yes!!! Exactly the same for me too been doing this for a couple years now just got back from vacation in Florida thought I'd die was in hotel room majority of the time early mornings and evenings I would go out for a bit but it was so muggy and hot no matter what I struggled so bad. You are definitely not alone.

Sorry to hear that.. that would be a dream holiday if it wasn't so hot!

      It's so unfair.

      Hope you're ok x

Yes Dora i don't tolerate it at all and feel like I have the flu if out long.  HAVE to have cool room and a fan and it calms down fast.  I usually end up napping as I get weak too.  Just sluggish.  Not fun.

Hello , I have already created a discussion with the same problem..

I live in Greece but fortunately the weather this month is rainy and not so warm....

Are you thinking of trying HRT?

      Hi Evi...

How long have you been heat intolerant?

I holidayed in Greece a few years ago in the middle of summer with temperatures in the 30's and I handled it...

Now is a totally different story...

I feel faint and burn up...

I'm not on HRT, although have seriously thought about it.

      Are you on HRT?

Do you have any other symptoms and are you perimenopause?

Before starting peri hell, summer was my favorite season! Due to peri, I am afraid a lot of scorching  hot weather.

I feel like you faint and my bones are aching...stiff joints.it is unbearable

I have everything on the list  about peri symptoms in a severe degree....and I am in this situation for 2 years . I am still having my menses regularly every 28-29 days. Are you still menstruating?

      I cannot bear it anymore...

Sorry to hear you're also having a bad time. Perimenopause is nasty..

Yes, I still have my periods, however they are irregular. Past couple of months they have been further apart.. . Every 35 days and the symptoms at this time are horrendous!

Are you on HRT or any other medication for your symptoms?

Yes I’ve had these symptoms and have had to turn back home as could not stand even a pair of  jeans . I lived in LA for years with hot weather but last 10 years I hate heat and seem to ‘overheat’

      Hi Mary... that's interesting.

I know that during perimenopause we can have hot and cold chills, so your symptoms must be normal during this phase.

I know that I get both hot and cold chills and can't handle extreme temperatures anymore.

I can't take much heat anymore or cold. I find I get breathless especially in cold weather.

It's just awful this peri thing.. .
