Hi this is Jennifer, I'm 50 and going through Peri.. ten years ago I had my first mammo and then was called back for suspicious area. They did aspiration on one cyst and core biopsy of the other. Result was benign and they put in a marker. Past nine years normal mammos and sonos. Until last October had mammo and sono, got a letter saying a "probably benign" area come back in six months. Went yesterday did another sono, shows two separate areas with cysts (the doctors words) and she is nit positive it is all fluid or some solid. Wants to do aspiration/core biopsy. Not a rush, she's not worried, if it's cancer they will remove it. Sounds so simple.. I am a wreck and need advice very badly! please help

    Hi Jennifer

I understant that due to hormone fluctuations during peri these breast cysts do come. Specifically if ur estrogen is high. Pls dont worry. It goes away once some balance in hormones is rchd. I had the same. Im sure urs will clear up too

    Take care stay stress free

    Hi Jennifer,

Sorry, so sorry you're going through all of this.  I know that it's easy for a doctor to tell you they're not worried.  Basically, it's not their body that has something going on in it.  I can't imagine why they think that that comment is reassuring to anyone!

My suggestion is that you tell her to get herself together and schedule that biopsy, so that you can find out as soon as possible. It's her responsibility as a doctor to assist you with this.  But you're the only one who can push her to do her job!

Best of luck to you--please let me know how you get on!

Hi Jennifer can relate to where you are now back in my late 40s, had one cyst after the other, they drained fluid off both breats each time.  Then they said they would do a scan to make sure, result was something that looked nasty. Showed a small lump so had to have a biopsy, they were pretty sure it was benign but still wanted to move it anyway. results were benign thankfully.  After a 4 week wait all over Christmas to find out. Oh but the anxiety and the tears i know.  Im sure  everything is ok , but as said ,she isnt that worried but you sure are so yes get the biopsy done ASAP to put your mind at rest.

    Hi Jennifer,

I have had mammos and sonos every two years since 2000. I always had cysts with fluid that had to be drained. I was scared many times, especially when i found something new in my breasts. A few years ago my breasts become very painful, more than before, with several large cysts. They appeared again and again for app. 2-3 years. Now it is better, but I still feel how my breasts respond to the hormones fluctuation.

Do not be afraid, Jennifer, and take care

Hi Jennifer. I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I have had the call backs too! And I know all about the fear and crying and being scared. Please don't feel alone. A lot of us go through this. ((Hugs))

Please keep us updated on how it goes. I would be knocking on that doctors door in the morning demanding the test be done asap or she will be admitting me for a nervous breakdown...so whichever one she wants to deal with...psych ward or biopsy😁
