hi ladies, i have'nt posted on here for a while, so i'm 48 and believe i have been in perimonopause for about 5 years, i have had alot of bleeding issues in the last 5 years.

3 years ago due to constant spotting i had to have all the investigations done and it turned out that i have a submucosal fibroid and adymyosis, anyway over the past 3 years i have skipped a few periods and had a few extended ones lasting 4 weeks 7 weeks and now this one has gone on for nine weeks and still going. before this bleed i went 8 weeks without a period, its starting to worry me now, has anyone else had this type of bleed and what did you do about it. I have started myself on iron tablets and the bleeding has calmed down quite abit.

many thanks sherry x

Hello! Last year, I had a 4+ week bleed and went to OBGYN. I had an internal ultrasound and the results were "textbook perfect." I was told, "Sometimes things get worse before they get better." This summer, I had another 4 week bleed and went back to the OBGYN and was told to get another ultrasound. By the time the appointment for the ultrasound rolled around, I started another period so decided to wait. I've now had my period for over 6+ weeks. I went back to the OBGYN on Thursday. She scheduled another ultrasound for next week and they did bloodwork. After having 109 days of (mostly heavy) bleeding since July 1st, I am anemic and was given iron pills. The longest I went without a period was one month and I had 8 migraine auras that month. If it's not one horrible thing, it's another. Message me anytime. xo
