Perimenopause discharge

Does anybody else going through perimenopause have problems with foul smelling discharge? I know this is TMI but I am loosing my mind over this issue. I'm having constant slight bleeding, enough so that I have to wear a tampon but when changing the tampon, the smell is horrible. Almost like a rotten Smell or a poop smell. I have done the check for a lost tampon because I read about that, but there is nothing up in there. I know my hormones are to blame for the prolonged bleeding but is this smell from hormones as well? I don't have health insurance to be able to go to the Dr right now. Please help!

Yes, unfortunately this a peri issue because of the tampon. If you stop using tampons the smell goes away. The tampons have a chemical that interact with the fluid causing the smell. Stop wearing tampons on light days and you won't have the smell.

Oh dear I can completely understand your concern but please, for peace of mind, try and have a check up. I’m sure all is well as Peri is a real roller coaster but it doesn’t hurt to check.

    Take care Hunni xxxx

Hi I think it's stale blood with something like that, blood that don't come down and when it does will give a odor

Yes, I also have that problem.  It's mostly if the discharge is particularly  heavy.  I haven't had a true period since May, but I have discharge from having a very thick lining in my uterus.  I have had some discharge since then every day but for two weeks in October.  And the smell  is getting better since the discharge is now getting lighter.   I just keep praying that all will go away, soon.

Lori, I have adenomyosis as well, so my uterus measures to be 3-4 months pregnant.

Douche with vinegar and water and see if it goes away.  If it doesn't you may have an yeast type infection which you can treat over the counter.

But constant bleeding is not quite right.
