Perimnopause Frozen shoulder
Posted , 3 users are following.
I've been going through perimenopause for about 8 years now and have had nearly every common and uncommon symptom on the main list. Recently I've developed "frozen shoulder."
I've seen other women post about it in the past and didn't pay much attention since I wasn't experiencing that. YET.
Wow, this is a bizarre and intense painful experience. Some days I can't even lift my arm to change the channel on the radio in the car. Sometimes the pain takes my breath away and I have to just sit and compose myself for several minutes.
I'll try to go back and check out the previous posts in the peri/menopause forum but until then...anyone else??

Hello,
I have had both shoulders freeze about 3 years apart. I went and got PT for the first shoulder and it still took about a year before it was better. I've had the second shoulder for 2 years now and didn't go for PT, which may have made the difference. I still don't have full range and it's painful in certain positions. It's very important that you keep moving it, even with the pain--sorry to tell you that. Not moving it will slow your process overall. Resistive exercises with a light band can help as well. Hope this helps.
Take Care,
Carmen

Thank you for your input, Carmen! I appreciate you sharing your experience and the advice. I'll definitely try to keep moving it around despite the pain.
I wonder why this is a symptom of perimenopause! So strange and frustrating.
Thanks again 😃
