For anyone wanting to upload an image you have to do it directly to this site rather than use a Host / Cloud site. Then you simply: -
> Use a PC / Mac or Laptop computer (you cannot do it from any Mobile phone)
> go to the discussion where you want to show an image and click on any text Stating "Reply to .... " or Click the Reply Button itself (sim you can even reply to your own message)
> when the Text / Dialogue box opens you will see 4 icon buttons at the top-right of the box. The "Upload an Image" button is at the opposite end to the "B" button ......

Hi sim, have you been using the steroid cream? It is important to use that at first to get severe symptoms under control and then you can always look at other methods. Read as much as you can on LS, because diet can really affect your symptoms. The 'paper cuts' are a symptom of LS, many of us get those. Have you got a good doctor? because that is crucial, a vulva clinic is the best bet as the level of cluelessness within the medical profession is staggering when it comes to LS.
In your shoes I would be using a sitz bath every day and applying the steroid cream to my anus and perineum twice a day for maybe a week and then reducing to once a day, then alternate days and so on. There is no hard rule about how much to apply, it all depends on the severity of your symptoms. Use a hand mirror to make sure you hit the right spot and it is best to apply a tiny amount (like a pearl size or less) each time.

sim, Has a doctor examined you? That is important. Without a proper diagnosis you won't get the right meds. If it is LS the sooner you start to use the meds the sooner the problems will abate.
Before I was diagnosed I had some mild discomfort from having BM's, but did not realize what was going on. Vulva seemed to be shrinking, but thought that was the result of atrophy. Went to see the gyn because of signs of vag infection. Glad I did or I would not have known about the LS. I am much older than you, but people of all ages get LS. What you describe sounds like LS, so be sure to see a gyn or dermatologist.
Even if it is not, you want to know what has been going on for two years.

Didn't that in itself cause a lot of discomfort. particularly when healing? Am feeling grateful my gyn was able to diagnose me with a visual exam! As the steroid seems to be doing a good job I assume she was correct. Initially I had my doubts as she showed me pictures of extreme cases in a medical book. Rushed home to try to get a look myself, barely saw anything, but there was definitely a very pale light line on the inside of each buttock. So far so good with the steroid. Using twice a week now.

All of these stories sound a little crazy to me. Anything is possible! Glad you were helped. May have mentioned to you on another thread homeopathy sort of works like that. You are given a miniscule amount of something "bad" which normally causes similar problems to what you are having and your body rallies to fight it off. (At least that's how I understood it). It's kind of fascinating.
I would probably try a witch doctor now if I thought I could stop these issues from progressing. But I may not have to as the estrogen and the steroid seem to be working well. Fingers crossed!
