Perineum Tears from herpes

Posted , 4 users are following.

Does anyone else experience frequent small cuts on their perineum (skin between anus and Vagina)?

I have ghsv1 diagnosed 3 months ago and experience this frequently, to the point where it's weekly. I apologise as what is to follow is too much Information but hey, we're on a herpes forum, much of what's on here ain't exactly pretty!

I have fairly frequent bowel movements - often 3 a day. I wonder if this tearing is constant outbreaks or if it's from having to wipe so frequently with toilet paper.

The tears only seem to last around a day before they heal. I know the answer is to go and get them swabbed but just wondering if anyone else experiences anything like this as i think it's constant/frequent outbreaks.

Still havent slept with my partner since diagnosis, have huge anxiety about it. If I'm having constant outbreaks don't see how this will ever be possible.

Still feeling so down about the whole situation, my thoughts are with anyone else feeling the same. You're not alone.

Is it normal for you to go so often each day? Seems rather a lot! Could well be irritation from constant wiping; some might be a recurrence as well. Hard to say which. Type 1 normally recurs far less, however.

Yeah it's normal, it's rather annoying!

Yeah I know right, just my luck. Have the type that's supposed to recur less but seem to constantly be having an outbreak.

Oh and I've been on supressive therapy since my primary outbreak. Yet still......

Sometimes I wonder about the information out there for this disease. It seems it can do whatever the hell it wants and there is no rhyme or reason a lot of the time. For example I wonder about the transmission statistics and how accurate they are. I know in the study regarding hsv2 the transmission rate was 4% per year where no Sex during outbreaks, no condoms or meds; 2% where meds taken; 1% when meds and condoms used.

But realistically we all contracted it! It's a common thing with 1 in 5 people having genital herpes, so all those people fall into that 5%, 2% or 1%...thats a lot of people herpes positive falling into those small risk percentages! I know it's not as straight forward as that, many people would have got it when a sexual partner had an active outbreak, many like me got it from oral sex. But still...

Yep, I totally know what you mean. I got it from the first and only time I had sex with a new partner...

Ask your doctor for Zovirax cream. It works wonders

Yes. They culture negative. Not sure whether I have type 1 or 2 (western blot pending). Whatever the cracks are, keeping really clean (wipes instead of just Tp) and anti fungal steroid creams help mine some. I think hemorrhoids become involved. Don't stress it too much, my doctors increasingly tell me, herpes is herpes. The distinction between 1 and 2 is quite blurry, either can transfer to non-preferred site. The main concern is if you are in labor with an active infection, or your partner has HIV.
