Periocular dermatitis?

About two weeks ago I had an odd bump on my nose, thought it was going to turn into a pimple. The next day, I noticed a similar bump on my left eyelid. MIT was so tiny, I wouldn't have noticed, except when I went to put on my eyeshadow it HURT. The next day I had one in almost the same exact location, but above my right eye. When I woke up the next day, I had 4 more spots clustering around the outer corner of my eye and down around the skin below my eye. There was swelling both above and below my eye. My husband urged me to see the doc because the tiny pimply spots hurt when touched/stung/itched and looked like how his shingles did when it first started. The doc quickly ruled out shingles because I had spots on both sides of my face, and one on my neck. She gave me a steroid cream and said to follow up in a few days. I used the cream for 2 days and they were gone, so I cancelled my appointment. Since then, I have had the tiny spots, just a couple, show up again around both eyes. They seem to only last a couple of days and then go away without using anything special, other than avoiding makeup and facial products.
I haven't found any other explanation that seems to match what is happening to me, other than possibly periocular dermatitis. Does this sound like anything anybody has experienced? I don't have large red patches, maybe a tad bit scaly with the worst of it last week. I have been using a tad bit of cortisone cream mixed in with moisturizer (had no idea how bad it was) nearly all winter because my face has been so dry, itchy, and flaky and that seemed to help. I have quit using it since reading these posts. Just wondering if this more mild type thing that I seem to have might be this. Thanks!

Your post showed up in my e-mails through a forum called "Help for **Possible** Perioral Dermatitis. Your symptoms sound similar to what others experience with Perioral Dermatitis (PD).....not exactly the same but what Ihave learned about PD since November of last year is that it comes out of nowhere with no explaination as to what it could be and in different parts of the face and neck.
Are the bumps like clear-fluid pustules? Itching, burning?
I really think that it would be good for you to have a look into our forum becasue it has been incredibly helpful to so many...the very least to talk about the frustration and embarrassment and worry over what you now have taking up residence on your face!
Wjy not have a look?
I wish you the best of luck

If you do decide to take a look at the forum, pay close attention to those that have used steroid creams to treat it....some have had very bad reations. It makes it better at first and then it erupts again.
I am very hesitant to mention that last part because I am not a doctor by any means and I don't want to scare you but I would hate to see it get worse.....Everyone is different so have a look and see if it helps!
