Hi Rachel. It sounds like you may need iron. Next time you experience this, go to your gp and ask them to test you for anaemia. It can be a struggle to get them to agree. I have low blood pressure, which causes these symptoms. The iron helps a lot. I take around 100mgs per day and 200 if my period is heavy. Lately it happens when I ovulate. Hope this helps.

    Hi Rachel,

I completely sympathise with you. I take iron supplements and blood tests show my levels are now normal. But about a week before my period, I am extremely tired all the time, find it hard to stay up past 8pm. I feel dizzy and lightheaded at times too. I normally get anxious and/or experience low mood 2 weeks before my period.

I've never felt dizzy before my period, but definitely anxious, yes. I use a Chinese herbal remedy to help with the anxiety, and I am trying to exercise more now. But if you are anemic, I wouldn't jump into any exercise. I'd recommend getting a blood check, see if you are anemic, take iron supplements for a month or two before trying to exercise. And a lot of ladies here are taking menopace as a supplement.
