Period problems.

Hi, I have had really bad period problems for a while. First it was really regular with no cramps, then I was depressed for while because of everything I was going through at the moment but it went away but that doesnt affect it. But less than a year into my period it started turning irregular, from every other month or every 3-4 months. Then I didn't get it for 11 months but i would get little spurs in between but it would only be for a few hours not even days so I didn't know what that was. Then it turned back regular but whenever I don't or even do have my period I have really bad cramps everyday. But before I went to europe last summer I was getting my period every other month but then I got back and didn't get it till the beginning of september, end of august. And Now its March and this is the first time getting it since then and I have really bad cramps to where I was unable to go to school for three days and I have thrown up and other stuff too and I have no idea what is going on. I am going to get it checked out soon but I have no idea what is going on. Has anyone else been through this before? I have no idea what this could be. Could it be just an irregular period??

If you don't mind my asking how old are you ?

Irregular periods are pretty common. The cramps may be due to overian cysts that are developing and going away on their own. If you are 30-40's or older it's possible you're going through perimenopause. If the pain is too great I'd go to a gyno and ask them if they have suggestions a progestrone mini pill may be helpful to your situation.

I am 15 years old and I've been experiencing irregularity since I was about 13. I am going to the gyno in the next couple of week but this is after a year or so of complaining of irregularity to my mother because whenever I get my period after a long period of time, I get really bad cramps to where I can barley get out of bed and I have stayed home from school for three days this week because of how bad it has been.

Don't worry sweetie. You're young irregularities are common. As is bad cramping. I'm sorry you have to experience the pain but your doctor should be able to help you with that. My cousin was put on birth control pill at your age (not for sex but to regulate her periods and help with cramping) it worked wonders for her. She used it for a year until

      Everything regulated.

Thank you so much. It's more of I've had them everywhere and it just spreads. My family has a history of certain period disorders and I really hope it's nothing too bad like that. I just hope it's irregularities like you say. Thank you for the advice by the way. Whenever I eat or do anything in general I get really bad cramps to where I have to stay in bed. It's pretty bad. But hopefully it will get better soon.

Yes I'm sure it's minor but I hope you have answers quickly and it gets better even quicker. Keep me up to date. I'll keep you in my prayers.
