Period-type pains when not on period?

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi everyone,

My latest weird symptom is feeling like i have period pain even though I'm not on my period - does anyone else get this? I've been peri for about 6 years and still have regular periods. This is a new symptom though and I can't see it on the list of symptoms, so am starting to worry about it now (worry is all I ever seem to do). I'd feel better to know if this is 'normal' for this time of life?

hi I've had this and it's your uterus.

I saw the gynaecologist and they couldn't see anything that concerned them apart from 2 polyps. I also had an ultrasound.

Mines come and goes so weird. Ask your dr for a scan or referral to be on the safe side. It's best to get it checked out for peace of mind.

Thanks for replying. I've had a couple of polyps removed in the past, hope I don't have more as I don't want to go through that again!! Ugh, can't wait for all this to be over!

Are you getting brown discharge? light brown with the pain?

No. Not this time. I've had that before though (before had polyps removed). I'll call the GP but I think they're sick of me!

Awful isnt it. I spoke to GP today. She said she had no idea why I was getting it, had never heard of anyone experiencing this before, and doesnt suppose its anything to worry about. She didnt exactly fill me with confidence! I'll see how it goes over next few weeks and then maybe try another doctor.

definitely. My acupuncturist was a gynaecologist and she told me it's due to your uterus expanding.

Have you had a smear? Have you have an ultrasound?

yes i had a smear about 6 months ago. Has been about 3 years since I had an ultrasound though. GP didnt offer to send me for one this time. Finding this whole covid situation and seeing a GP really difficult. Will try again next month though if it persists
