Periods after a miscarriage

I had a miscarriage in September last year and have had irregular periods since. My periods were very regular prior to getting pregnant, always 30 days on the dot. i would have only been 5-6 weeks when the miscarriage happened. my doctor says this is normal but its been 6 months and they are getting more and more irregular (45days +), is there anything i can do to regulate them? i am healthy and in my late 20s.
