Peripheral neuropathy feet, hands, lips, tongue and jaw. Arm weakness.

My husband has developed very quickly over the last month neuropathy in his feet and hands, he feels like he has warm gloves on and the tingling has gone up his arms to his elbows and he has pain in his elbows. His lips and edge of his tongue and under his tongue and jaw has tingling and he feels like he stumbles over his words. Concentration is starting to be an issue too, whether that is worry I am not sure. He has had neurologist review with MRI and bloods and his neuro test all clear. Frustrated with no answers.

    Hi,

Have you received any answers to your husbands neuropathy?

I’ve been on a similar, long, frustrating journey.  Many normal tests, no real answers.  I did find that I ended up having an abnormal plasma protein (MGUS IgG lambda), then a weak positive ANA,  I was originally told my unexplained neuropathy was more than likely caused by a virus that had been dormant, but acting up.  This would be like one that caused mononucleosis, or the heroes virus that causes mouth cold sores.

But then, I started getting really strong bizarre reactions, suddenly became allergic to all kinds of foods, dyes, medications and smells I had always tolerated.  Then had trouble swallowing.  This led to endoscopy, diagnosis of eosinophilic esophagitis and then Mast Cell disease.

Once again I’m having neuropathic symptoms, while all the above supposedly under control. Just tested for Lyme disease, came back negative.

Hopefully you found an answer.  Would be curious to know what you found, especially if none of the above.

Hi, this is exactly what I am feeling ! I have only been seeing my doctor for the last six month about it so no clues about why yet.  It started in my arms then my mouth and now my feet and legs, I know it's affecting my thinking too. Please let up know how things go for you, best of luck!
