Peroneal tendon repair complications

Posted , 3 users are following.

I had both of my peroneal tendons repaired 5 months ago and still have extreme swelling over lateral malleolus. Have tried PT and steroid injections but nothing has helped. Dr. Seems to think I have damaged lateral ligaments and would like to operate again. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Thanks!

    Were the tendons completely ruptured?

Has the Ortho done an MRI?

Brevis had a 6cm longitudinal tear and longus had a full thickness tear. I had an mri last night just because I requested it. He seems to think surgery is the only option regardless of the mri.

Apparently I was wrong and I only had tears in my brevis. There was the longitudinal tear and then the complete rupture. My mri from two days ago doesn't say anything real exciting about my ligaments. It states moderate tendonopathy and tenosynovitis of the peroneus longus as it course along the plantar aspect of the calcaneous.
