Persistent BV-Help

For the past 3 years, I have have occurences of "bacterial vaginosis". At first, I notified my primary care physician, who prescribed me with climdimyacin. I noticed no difference. I repeatedly called my doctor, saying I was still having the discharge. She then prescribed the antibiotics again. I started to believe that maybe this what was normal for me. I began being less intimate with my finace. It has literally affected everything I do. I have to wear pads at all times because the discharge is so constant. Also, during sex, it becomes worse. Since I was in birth control, I had to have a Well Woman exam every year. For about 3 years, I heard the same thing. "Oh.. many girls are resistant to antibiotics.. this can be a tough infection to fight". In total, I tried a total of 5 times taking the antibiotics for the bacterial infection I had.

Finally, after 3 years, I had enough. I had never been to a gynecologist, so I decided to seek another opinion. Upon visiting a gyno, the lead doctor said that maybe I had something called cytalitic vaginosis. She took a ph sample and said that the ph was way too acidic. She then told me to do 2 baking soda dueshes a week for 2 weeks and said my symptoms would subside. I did this for 2 weeks with no change.

I then visited the gyno again, seeing a different doctor ( the 1st was very hard to get an appointment with). She immediately said it looked like a bacterial infection. Just like my primary physician had said. She then reccomended that I take the round of antibiotics once more, and to call her if I didn't have any relief. Reluctantly, I took them again, hoping maybe this time something would be different.

1 week later I ended up with even MORE discharge and a low grade yeast infection because of the antibiotic. At this point, I am so frustrated and willing to do anything possible to feel normal again. The gyno ended up putting a perscription of rephresh gel on my file. I called back and am now planning on trying this as a last resort.

First of all, I have never been so frustrated and upset about all this. Its like nobody is willing to help or even care about my problem.

I am still super positive. I want to think that even after this long, I can finally find relief for my symptoms. I've even gone as far as seeking herbal remedies and reading forums on these types of problems.

If anyone has any advice to give that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi allie76172, for some reason this bv has become like normal for most woman. But i can tell you what i know. That rephresh gel works

but it seems like my body has gotten use to it anD the bv came back. Rephresh also has a probiotic. I also take probiotics after each meal.if you insert it into the vagina that also works. Your doctor may say douche, dont do it. The have a PREbiotic insert just insert with a soft probiotic pill. while you are trying to get rid of the bv no sugar at all. And lots of water. I eat alot of cabbage because i read that when you eat it create its own probiotic that kills certain germs. Another thing iS cut up A onion and eat it. I was getting white stuff on my tongue whenever i got bv the onion took it away. And i read somewhere that onions eliminates mucus. And it does, ive tried it. All of this things work. I have taken a antibiotic called flagyl. it works but you have to take the the daily probiotic with it. I hope this helps
