Pessary tried and failed shelf fitted doesn’t seem to be staying in place

i have a prolapse and the gyni fitted a shelf today which doesnt seem to be staying in place. he had me booked for pelvic floor repair + vaginal hysterectomy + removal of both ovaries and tubes/sacrospinous fixation. I am 84 and am worried at such a drastic action at my age. also I am not sure what sacrospinous fixation means - is it that terrible mesh that ruined so many womens lives. Does anyone have any answers that can help me make up my mind. will I be safe to have such an op at my age.

I may also add I have terrible bowel problems and I think that has caused the shelf to move

Bianca, the pessary may not be the right size or type. Go back for reassessment. Its quite common for this to happen.
