I also started out with petit mal epilepsy after an accident. I could hear and see, but my mind was frozen. After being seizure free for years, my medical file was closed. But my file was re-opened when I started to have tonic clonic and partial seizures, not fun as you know. When you say you see an object, is this a repeat vision each time of the same thing or just staring out into space.
Listening to music may be lowering your stress level. I find music relaxing.
Anti-convulsants meds can also be an important factor for an individual. Each one I’ve taken has side effects. Some didn’t work for me and some had side effects I couldn’t tolerate. A (alertness) to Z (zombie). When I took lamotrigine alone, my thoughts were clear, but when it failed, my Dr. put me on Topamax. It made me dizzy. Switched to levetiracetam but it altered my mind to become upset at any little innocent (like Jackal and Hyde). Another med made me unable to function. Now I’m on the combo of lamotrigine and levetiracetam. I would suggest a discussion with your Dr. about your med. and situation. Anti-seizure meds can be a frustrating trial and error episode(s).
I wish I could be more of help.
Take Care, Steve
