Hi Claire, what was your partial epilepsy diagnosed as?, mine was 'temporal lobe' which is to do with memory and as you may expect my memory is generally  lousy.  I take Epilim and Keppra which help but do not solve the problem 100%.  Was the tonic clonic seizure provoked in any way?

      Hi david

I had vomited twice the day before due to something I ate, but that's it I've ill alot worse than that and seizure was not triggered. I'm on lamotrigine have been now since June as I was on epilim but obv can't be pregnant on them. just want to know if epilespy type can move to different areas of the brain I don't know what area gets effect I can't remember being told.

I also started out with petit mal epilepsy after an accident. I could hear and see, but my mind was frozen. After being seizure free for years, my medical file was closed. But my file was re-opened when I started to have tonic clonic and partial seizures, not fun as you know. When you say you see an object, is this a repeat vision each time of the same thing or just staring out into space.

Listening to music may be lowering your stress level. I find music relaxing.

Anti-convulsants meds can also be an important factor for an individual. Each one I’ve taken has side effects. Some didn’t work for me and some had side effects I couldn’t tolerate. A (alertness) to Z (zombie). When I took lamotrigine alone, my thoughts were clear, but when it failed, my Dr. put me on Topamax. It made me dizzy. Switched to levetiracetam but it altered my mind to become upset at any little innocent (like Jackal and Hyde). Another med made me unable to function. Now I’m on the combo of lamotrigine and levetiracetam. I would suggest a discussion with your Dr. about your med. and situation. Anti-seizure meds can be a frustrating trial and error episode(s).

I wish I could be more of help.

    Take Care, Steve

Hi Steve I didn't explain that we'll what I meant was when in a busy noisy environment I have to find a still object to focus on to calm my eyes and brain and get out of the environment. Now I work in a nursery so you can see how this is hard.I'm on lamotrigine since June I was on epilim but can't be pregnant on them. Thanks

Had another grand mal again was taken to hospital freaked my boyfriend out! I have generalised petit mal and have had 2 grand mal seizures in 3 months of each other. Need to know if this is normal my epilespy changing. Seems to have happened once on lamotrigine and now on keppra too but still had the seizure even on both. Pretty worried as I work in a nursery and the environment is making my absences worse since the first seizure and I get head pressure 10 and sometimes more a day. Any advice would be awesome thanks x
