Phimosis and Circumcision Anxieties

Hey guys...
It's a topic that's been covered many times before but I'm another to add to the list.
I've recently turned 30 and I've always had phimosis. I have no exposure of the head at all apart from about a 5mm(ish) opening.
On the whole, it doesn't really cause me problems - aside from the obvious discomfort if it's tried to be pulled back. In terms of sex, it doesn't usually cause an issue so long as a condom is used, but without it's not really an option because of the discomfort.
I always make sure I clean as thoroughly as possible , which goes without saying really...
People sometimes say circumcision can impact you mentally and lead to you regretting it. However, I find that it impacts me mentally having phimosis. I've been with the same girl for over 10 years now and she says it really doesn't bother her and I shouldn't let it affect me and she is incredibly supportive but unfortunately it does still affect me.
I've also on a couple of occasions gotten a UTI which has a good chance of being as a result of having phimosis.
I've tried stretching methods and to be honest, I found them a complete waste of time that just caused me more discomfort and stress about it.
I've accepted that the only option for it is circumcision and to be honest, I'm okay with that. The part that worries me is the recovery, how painful and uncomfortable it will be having the head exposed for the first time and last but not least - I hate needles and the thought of having injections into my penis probably bothers me more than having the procedure done...coupled in with the fact that I would in all likelihood pass out during the procedure too as I can't be in hospitals, doctors etc without turning white and nearly hitting the deck.
Any advice and comments on how other people have dealt with their experience of it would be appreciated.
I know that I just want to get it done, but I've been putting it off for years and bottling going through with it and each time it makes the psychological aspect of it worse each time.
I'm hoping that I manage to find the bottle to just get it done and finally put it behind me...
Thanks and sorry for the essay!!

why have you waiting until you were 30?
did you not try to pull the foreskin back in your early teens?

Hey thanks for the reply.
I did try, constantly, but it just didn't happen for me.
In my teens I really hated the thought of circumcision so I always convinced myself into believing it would eventually sort itself out.
Throughout my 20's I again kept trying stretching methods, ordering different kits, creams etc and I kept looking into alternative procedures but I got a lot of mixed feedback about them and just kept losing the confidence to go through with am actual circumcision. It was a few weeks ago that I came to the conclusion that I cant carry on with this; I cant keep trying different methods and just hoping for the best.

Hi it sounds like you need to have it sorted. See you doctor and have things checked out and get the ball rolling you will be so relieved afterwards. It naver as bad as you think it will be and you will have support with your partner.

Thanks for the replies you two.
Something that I wonder most about in terms of the recovery is the head sensitivity. Obviously I'm aware that having been hidden away for 30 years, its going to be pretty sensitive. Questions about that are;
1 - Is it essentially like an open wound feeling? Something like a bad grass burn?
2 - How long does it take for it to settle down?
Thanks again.

Yeah I'm sure it will be very sensitive for you but it's something that you will need to just bear with. nobody can say how long it will take to desensitize its something that will gradually go.
It's very hard to explain how it feels for me it was like a Constance awareness of rubbing my clothes it's not really a pain more an irritation that is it uncomfortable. I found keeping it covered or wrapped up when I was working or during the day and uncovered afterwards in the evening. giving it time and patience it will improve. I think you have tried a lot over the last few years and it hasn't improved so you need to go and get advice.

Hey.
So I am booked in for circumcision in a couple of weeks.
Pretty nervous about it and dreading the injections as it's being done under local instead of general. Where about's is it they inject the anaesthetic, is it just the base of the penis of near the head too?
Oh, and I need to try and not pass out. It's not going to be a fun day.
