Phimosis/Paraphimosis

I am 16 years old now and only recently realised that not being able to pull the foreskin back all the way is abnormal. I am still a virgin so I am unsure on whether it will cause me any discomfort.

I am able to get the foreskin all the way back while the penis is flacid but I have to pull the foreskin to make it cover the head as some gets stuck behind the head. I am unable to pull the foreskin back while erect which seems to be the problem as I am fairly certain it will cause me pain during sex.

Any help is appreciated and I would like to sort out this problem as soon as possible and if possible not have to be circumcised or have to visit the doctor.

That does look tight, but since you're only 16 it may just fix itself.  Gentle stretching may help, and you could also get a steroid cream from a doctor.  I'm not a doctor, but I wouldn't have thought that surgery would be necessary, and even if it is, then it could be preputioplasty rather than circumcision.

It may well hurt if you have sex, and I'd recommend using a condom and lots of lube.

If it gets trapped behind the glans (the bell-shaped bit at the end), and you can't push it back into place with manual pressure cold water, then that's paraphimosis, and you should seek immediate medical attention.

In your position, I'd get it looked at, but I definitely wouldn't want to get circumcised.  American doctors seem to recommend circumcision a lot quicker than doctors in Europe, where circumcision is a last resort.

If you see a doctor, then If you could tell us what they say, it would be appreciated.

Thankyou so much for all the help! I have done what you have said and have been stretching the foreskin for 3 days now and can get it all the way back while erect.

You can do exercises to stretch a tight foreskin. Gently pull the foreskin back from the head of the penis as far as possible using your fingers and baby oil or some lube.  This can take time, but hey, it can be fun. Start when the penis is flaccid and eventually progress to stretching the foreskin during an erection.  No need for any pain at all... be patient and go slow.  In Google images type "how to stretch foreskin?" and you will see some examples.
