Stop searching the INTERNET.  It's very likely that you may have Inflammatory Bowel Disease -- IBD which is an inflammation that is treatable.  IBS is usually diagnosed when there is no inflammation -- it's kind of an umbrella word used by doc which means they don't know what the hell is causing your problems.

Calm yourself down before you make yourself very ill.  My friend had Crohn's disease and the pain he had was so terrible, he wanted to give up but they treated him and he's now in his late 80s.

If you sit around being scared, you will only make yourself feel worse by the time the procedure approaches   I could say don't worry -- that's something everyone says.  If I were you, I'd be concerned too but you lack symptoms of Crohn's disease so put that out of your mind.  You have no blood in your stool, you are not running constantly to the bathroom, you have no terrible cramping and shooting pains in your abd. and not an overload of gas and your blood work came back negative  If you had Crohn's you'd know it.  Sometimes calprotectin shows up in a stool sample and it's a false positive.  After my gall bladder removal, I was told I had C. diff. (a digestive inflammation that is a killer and high contagious).   I was hysterical until I insisted on a second stool test and it came back negative -- so the first test was a false positive.  Labs make mistakes.

Take a deep breath and try to relax.  I don't know what else I can offer you but my best wishes and sending calming vibes.

Stress can make it all worse.... it sounds like treatable IBD.

Don't google worst you can do you don't seem to have any red flag symptoms

Some people show inflammation with IBS.  However, a high calprotectin level is usually associated with IBD whicch can be successfully treated and managed.  You shouldn't worry though; wait until the results of the colonoscopy.

Is it stange that my last specialist colorectal surgeon, never found inflamation after all the tests i have had done. Been on metamucil and colofac for 10 days now, and only one lot of diareah in that time. And no cramping after meals. Not sure if the winner is metamucil or colofac. but will stay on both for now. Cheers
