A great area to walk the dogs. There's a great lot of Tui's (song birds), Kereru (woodpigeon), loads of other birds of many varieties and pheasants to!..

The lake itself is HUGE and I haven't been able to take any photo's of the whole area yet. But will post up another photo which gives you a contrast view of the Mountain, Mt Taranaki which is seen for miles in all directions...
Also a photo of someone else's photo of the mountain... taken from the same Lake... Lake Mangamahoe (pronounced kind of like, Maar ngar mar hoe e. Only the ngar is pronounced as if you were holding the reasonating sound of 'Mung' when saying 'Mungbeans.' And no it doesn't sound off with a munGa sound lol...
Similar to the lazy incorrect way of pronounciation by saying .. Mar Nar Ma Hoe.
Have I given you a confusing lesson in the Maori pronounciation of Mangamamoe? hahahaha
Photo 1, some one elses photo, and I love it!
Photo 2, I love this, it's someone elses photo and is lovely
Photo 3, taken from the very same lake but from a higher elevation.
Photo 4, I took this photo yesterday when I took the dogs out for a drive. Was a cold day!
Sorry about the sizes of the photo's some are really small and I can't alter them.
