Physical Symptoms of Anxiety make me think i have MS

Hello, i've been worried about physical symptoms of anxiety since around christmas, for ages i was in denial that anxiety could cause the thing i feel.
Firstly i began with muscle twitches all over, heart palpitations, and random cheat pains. I then would get random sharp pains and aches around my body, in my sides, knees, arms and thighs and hands. Then the most recent one i have been suffering with is random skin crawling sensations, almost like intermittent buzzing on my skin, in my scalp, fingers and legs. It becomes worse when i focus on it, but i'm still worried because it comes at the most random times. I also get random aches in my temples that last for a couple of seconds then go.
I have been to the doctors multiple times and have seen many different doctors, they have given me every blood test under the sun and the only thing that came back was low iron and folate, but i believe i have sorted that now. They have all said its anxiety all along but i am worried they have missed something.
I have allowed health anxiety to take over my life and i am in a complete state where i have convinced i have some sort of neurological disease, can anyone relate?

please believe the doctors. i had every one of your symptoms plus more in my 20s. thought had MS too. IM in my 50s now and very healthy! NEVER had MS. all symptoms due to stress and anxiety. i had numbness, tingling, floaters in eyes, ringing in ears, muscle twitches, weakness, brain fog, crawling feeling on skin, etc...
the reason people they have a neurological condition is because anxiety symptoms affect most times of the neurological system..... but harmless.!
so please relax and workon managing stress. visit a counselor which helps. you are ok. ❤

Hello Jan, this is really reassuring to hear. I have really struggled telling myself that anxiety is the cause as i had no idea it could cause these type of symptoms. I feel like i notice every little weird sensation in my body as im so tuned into it and they all happen at the most random times. Most the times they come on when im resting and not even thinking about it, was this the same for you?

Hi! I am 32 and two weeks ago developed pins and needles in my left foot which within days spread to both legs, hands and face. Ive worried so much about it that I cant eat and have lost a few nights sleep. Ive had two lots of bloods done all normal. I even went to A&E yesterday as I was so terrified as parts of my skin felt like they were burning. They werent worried. All reflexes were good but they have referred me to neurology just for peace of mind. I feel a bit better today but still have that worry in the back of my mind. I think I have health anxiety brought on by having children. I honestly still find it hard to believe that anxiety can make you this sick! Hang in there, lets hope this gets better for both of us.

anxiety can absolutely make you sick. That’s why it’s good to try to get it under a little control. there is a very strong mind body connection. Long term anxiety and stress can cause depression, gastritis, dyspepsia, Brain fog, high blood pressure, and other conditions.

I'm the exact same right now woke up feeling scared and panicky I have myself convinced there is something wrong with me and I've had blood tests done recently and my full blood count all came back OK and nothing came up. Now I'm convinced it's something to do with my brain. I have chronic health anxiety and I can't overcome it at the minute

Hi guys,
I can sympathize with your situation as I have been having these types of symptoms for almost 2 months.
generalised body wide itching no rash (although some patches seem to have shown up). shooting and stinging pains, achy left hand, weird sensation on left wrist (not pins and needles and not painful, but you just know something is not quite right). and cold/hot feelings.
Some other symptoms that made me feel confident that this is brought on by anxiety/stress is due to also having experienced more common anxiety symptoms at the same time, chest and back pain, palpitations and some sweating.
The symptoms seem to be intermittent, although the weird feeling in left wrist is chronic, itching also chronic.
I have visited doctor, blood tests all fine, visited neurologist who told me the symptoms are not suggestive of anything sinister. MRI scan could be done but not really worth it. I had agreed with her opinion. She had said if this was indicative of any serious disorder, I would have shown signs of loss of function in body, on top of stating the symptoms seem to be waxing/waning.
I would like to ask how long it takes for these symptoms to resolve? As admittedly before the onset of symptoms I was stressed and anxious regarding a minor health issue (hypochondria) that since resolved.
I'm trying to chill and relax but I think over ruminating over symptoms makes them worse.
Is it reasonable to expect anxiety symptoms to last for weeks? Even when you are trying to stop thinking about them and getting on with normal routine?
Hope you all feel better soon
