Yes, to both of those. I started physical therapy at about 8 weeks. Mostly we've been working on the cognitive behavior side of overactive bladder, but we will start the internal work of pelvic floor strengthening and muscle releasing soon. I too am using premarin, but I'm using the cream. The premarin will help strengthen the integrity of the vaginal wall tissue. In my case, this will likely be a short-term medicine. My surgeon is from the Cleveland Clinic, and she's a highly-trusted urogynecologist. What your doctor is suggesting sounds reasonable.

I am 35 and 6 weeks from my surgery. I was given cream to use starting the second week. However, I had a large hematoma that caused heavy bleeding so I couldn't actually use it until my 6th week when it finally stopped. He told me it was for scar tissue along the incision. My incision felt very smooth when I was able to use it. Monday he said I don't need to keep using it. But wasn't sent for PT.

My pelvic floor is weak, so I'm really grateful for the physical therapy. I asked about the estrogen cream. I was nervous about it as well. The doc said that localized use of estrogen keeps most of it right there in the vaginal wall, so the risks of hormone-related issues is minimal. I figure for a short term, I need to use it. I tried not using it for a while, and it was too early.
Good luck!!

I am passed your age bracket but I can with certainty that this is very normal.
No need to worry about this desire as it is very common and expected.
Just make sure you're ready and very comfortable before proceeding. Take are and go on with life.
