    Hi Tracey,

Yes, Gabapentin has worked wonders for my constant tingling and twitching I have in my arms, hands and fingers.I am on 600mgs 3 times a day now so dosage can be upped when needed. Good luck, mike

Hi Tracey. I have not messaged you before. That is the main thing with CS, staying positive. I am due to meet up with the spinal team on weds 27th may, to discuss my options. Surgery would be to complex, as there too many discs involved. I am staying positve tho. I have recently started using a stick to walk with as my left leg is really weak, and quite painful. My left arm is the same, weak and painful and I am still in a great deal of pain in my neck. My medication is keeping the pain more tolerable. I just need to find out what the next course of action is going to be.

hi lesley, yes sometimes the hardest thing is staying positivecos we dont when things can change, i find that a tens machine helps with the pain in my neck, dont know if you have thought of that, but it does help a great deal, it doesnt with the other pains unfortunately hope that is of some help to you, hope all goes well on the 27th, lets hope you can find something that does help. all the best love tracey xx

    Hi Tracey,

I must admit that nothing killed my pain for months but pain management is fine now, so I was a bit bemused this Monday that on a visit to my gp it was suggested that I should stop taking the Naproxen 500mgs twice daily. So I did stop from Monday evening until Thursday morning then just out of the blue the pain started again at the left of my neck parallel to my ear. From bitter experience I know what will follow within hours so I went back on them.My gp is only worried that long term use may affect my stomach but as I also take Omeprazol with Naproxen I have had no reaction so far.

hi mike,  thats the problem with drs they can alter things and not always for the better, its good that you havnt had any reactionn yet, i always believe that we should handle things when and if they occur, the naproxen was working for you and thats great and they should leave it alone, as long as you happy with it, my drs have done thngs like that with my anti depessants and i ended up in hospital, weirded out came off them too quick, so  i always question them now when they want to alter anything just in case., hope the medication you are on helps you and it seems like it is, we can only take one day at a time, but always be ready thats my motto, all the very best and please keep in touch its great to chat with someone who is unfortunately going through the same as me, take care for now love tracey x

    Hi Tracey,

Good to hear that things are easing for you. I just wanted to add my name to the gabapentin fan club ... I have been taking it for 3 weeks or so and am feeling much better. I take it at night, tried through the day but it made me too sleepy. The naproxen also seems to be helping along with cocodamol as well. I take ranitidine to protect my stomach from the array of meds and finally feel like my CS is managed. Spinal appointment is looming so a bit nervous for that, but overall moving in the right direction (some days slower than others!). Take care Sonia

hi sonia, sorry its taken me so long to reply pc wasnt working properly, been taking gabapentin working great for me at the moment, saw dr this week and he seemed surprised i still only take one at night thought i would have taken more by now, so i suppose thats a good thing, and im soo lad that things ar going in the right direction for you  albeit slowly lol, but as long as you get there hey, thats what matters, you will have to let me know how youre spinal appointment goes, im sure it will go well let me know when it is and i be thinking of you sending you calming thoughts lol, well it cant hurt can it, im currently waiting now to see a specialist so who knows how long that will be, but i hope its soon, as i do seem to be getting worse, but trying to stay postive, anyway all the best for now take care love tracey x
