Physio

Three weeks yesterday post tkr , only had one physio session, next one on 6th Oct , I don’t feel I am getting enough physio. I know because I was referred to a private hospital for my operation, they told me I only get three physio sessions because I am not a private patient. So what do I do , where do I go for more session, I know I have to pay which is ok . And is it too soon to try swimming.
One last question my good people what is ROM . I thank you in advance

It's what you do each day that matters, but if in UK look on the chartered society of physiotherapists website, I think they have a search facility on there.
We don't get so much in UK as in USA, generally system is different. I was fortunate to get a lot but must vary from area to area.
ROM is short for range of motion. Flexion measurement is how far you can bend, and extension measurement is how far straight you can get your leg.
Wait til six weeks and make sure incision all sealed up before swimming.

Ah, glad to help. It's a great help to have the reassurance of a physiotherapist, and a good investment.
Surrey, snap!
You may like to go to my profile by clicking on the image next to my name. I kept a journal of my own knee replacement journey, and I have been told by several people they found it helpful to read, or skim through. There is an abridged version which is shorter as well! It has a lot of useful suggestions and information.
When you are able, I would really recommend doing exercises in water. I brought some ankle floats from sports direct....had to look everywhere to find them! Under the men's section for some odd reason! My physio told me wearing them increases resistance.

I'll be 6 weeks on mon post tkr and I've never had any physio, just shown in the hospital once, the day I left, and a leaflet showing what to do at home. I've got the docs on Monday to ask if I can get any on the NHS. Rom is short for range of movement, measuring the bend of your leg and how straight also
