Physio recommended exercise - imagine a £50

Posted , 7 users are following.

stuck between your bum cheeks (how it got there, I'll leave up to you).

Now imagine someone is trying to remove the £50 and you really, really don't want them to.  So, what do you do?

Tense those buttock muscles, hold for 5 seconds then release.  Repeat 10 times.

Once you can hold for 5 seconds, increase to 10, 15, 20 (you get the idea).

Excellent strengthening exercise!

I have to admit the fifty pounds scared me more than the exercise. I just went to my GP for a referral (Australia) and will get five physio visits on Medicare.

Ye olde butt clench is good for lots of things, including not peeing yourself in public.

Another goodie I was given by a physio, had some weakness in core muscles so I was told, and it works.

Imagine you are trying to dooo up a button on hipster jeans and they are just simply tooo tight, what do you do but tuck in below your belly button.

I could only do the exercise when I thought about it doing up the button, once I practised some more it came more and more easily, you also feel you pelvic floor respond as all the muscles are linked up.

Helped hugely with sciatica pain post THR.
