Physiotherapist thinks Ankle is fine... Help?

Firstly I would like to apologise for the badly worded thread I made the other night and anyone I may have lashed out at, I was extremely annoyed with my NHS appointment.

Again for a little backstory, I had a routine avulsion fracture of the Lateral Malleolus two years ago, I had an X-ray, confirmed the fracture and put in an Aircast boot for 6 weeks and away to go.

Only problem is I have had ongoing pain for two years around that area (constantly) and issues with the foot / ankle in general since. The pain isn't agonising,  debilitating and I can walk okay which is why it took me so long to get it looked at again. I just thought after so long surely it can't be right having those feelings.

Well, I had another X-ray done a few months back, it looked okay and all she mentioned was there was scarring on the bone where it had healed, fair enough.  I was recommended to go to Physiotherapy (which I have never found helpful), after four weeks of exercise I explained to the therapist it wasn't any better, she told me this is normal and to carry on and she isn't going to forward me for a scan regardless of whether the Physio works or not and advised me to ask my GP.

Problem is I highly, highly doubt an NHS GP will refer me for an MRI scan and I think I will need to go privately, which is an option, it's just a shame to have to pay out hundreds for something the NHS could do, but refuse to do.

Some of my symptoms are -

Constant ache in the area above the left ball of my ankle

Repeated sprains / general weakness compared to my other ankle

More frequent pins and needles sensation in that ankle

Walking with a limp etc

It doesn't seem to swell or bruise but I don't want to keep having to put up with it my whole life, surely there is something going on?    At the end of the day if I see an ankle specialist, get an MRI scan get a decent explaination even if theres nothing they can do that will be fine for me.  But at the moment it's all so vague from the NHS.

Any ideas or help?

Sounds like possible ligament damage. I had a fracture of my talus 3 years ago and it wasn't treated properly. Led to 3 surgeries.
