yes I have tears like that after bowel movements but I have been making me a bottle of soda warm water and put it in a plastic squirt bottle and clean my self and then dry with a cool dryer and then put clog on it . it will clear you up. my gun dr told me to use warm water after every bowel movement. it does help. plus I keep a small electric hot pot where I can warm my water.

im sorry your dealing with this as well. but i do feel better im not alone. i havent been formally diagnosed with lichen yet. have you? my vulva specialist believes im too young to have it (only 19) and i dont have white patches. but i truly have every other symptom and an underactive thyroid (once you have one autoimmune disease your prone to another). i just want a diagnosis. i believe in my heart this is lichen sclerous

I have LS and this happens to me i use bicarb and lavender in a small bowl

inside the toilet and wash after every bowl movement.

I then use Sudacrem it acts as a barrier but also helps healing xx

sorry you deal with this too. i will try that thank you

poor thing, it looks sore. Try to use unscented baby wipes not toilet paper and sudocrem. It may sting at first, I had this a while ago, I also was constipated at the time and had piles. Hope it heals soon, the Sudocrem will act as a good barrier cream. x

Hi, it looks like LS. Try to get to a vulva clinic for a firm diagnosis. I have a bidet which is invaluable for people with LS and so I can wash myself after every visit to the bathroom.

The sooner you get a diagnosis the sooner you will be given a steroid cream which should clear that up quite quickly.

ugh this calmed me down so much. this has been hell for the last 7 months worrying about what this could be. i got repeated std tests over and over obviously all negative. i am at the point where i just need a diagnosis. my skin is paper thin and just rips all over. im only 19 so it upsets me

hi, because you are so young it is important to see someone with experience of LS. Many doctors arent that well informed which is why you have had a barrage of tests done with no one knowing what was wrong.

In the meantime if you wash yourself after every bathroom visit with a good soap for sensitive skin and put either Vaseline or Desitin cream on the cuts it should help. Try to get hold of a Spitz bath. The key though is to try to dry the area out if at all possible to enable it to heal. As I mentioned before the steroid cream will be a big help. Take the time to read some older posts on this and other sites regarding LS because what many of us have found is that we tend to be more knowledgeable than the doctors in some cases.

Even though it is an upsetting diagnosis you will have periods of remission that can last for years.

Diet can affect your symptoms too, so it is worth doing some research on that.

thank you so much for taking time to reply and give me advice. i went to a vulva specialist 2 times (same guy) and i think he is considering LS as a last resort type thing since i dont have white patches and im young. but im going to request a biopsy so i can figure it out. in the meantime ill do what you recommended

Relief- The only thing I found to help heal and relief these fissures is an

ALOE LEAF you can find it in the grocery store. Do Not try to use any "natural aloe products" as they are not the same as using the natural plant whole leaf. I live in south florida so they are at every publix grocery. Appx 18-24 inches in length price here is $1.99 .

When i am up north these leaves can be found in ethnic stores. cut a small piece you MUST SOAK them prior to using. Soak for about an hour. then rinse again. No more yellow/green or red run off ready to use

Cut leaf so u can access the clear inside.(It must be slimy if not slimy its wont help to old)

Use this slimy inside and put on area thats sore/torn. I usually put on befor bed or sometimes a little during the day. This will help heal the rips. It will not take away the Lichen Schlerosus. But will help with healing these fissures.

To get my Lichen Schlerosus under control I was prescribed Desoximetasone Ointment .25%b

It seemed to irritate at the first 10 days i used but i pressed on and once i started using every other day then every 3 days it seemed to really help Alot.

Using the Aloe leaf was my saving grace!

    Good Luck.

Hi, I see this post is a few years old, but having scoured the internet yours is the only photo I can find that looks almost exactly like my own anal area does! On the off chance you're still getting notified about replies... can you share an update re: your diagnosis and treatment? I'm heading to the OBGYN tomorrow for my first exam related to the vulvar/anal itching and micro-tearing I've been experiencing for 6+ months now. It took a long time & lots of at-home treatment to realize it probably wasn't just garden-variety anal fissures or an itch-scratch cycle, and even longer to figure out it might be LS since like you I'm younger (well, 30, but still haha) and have no white patches! Up till now it was usually only one or a few micro-tears at a time, but now I have little fissures radiating out from my anus like a child's drawing of the sun, plus a few more between my inner & outer labia 😕 I'd love to know if you ever got an LS diagnosis and if so (or if not!) what methods you found effective for treating and preventing these tears and the awful itching?
