Picked up my Rayos (slow release pred) cost $9,000 month!

I am so happy to have insurance because today when I picked up my Rayos (Lodotra) a timed release form of prednisone available here in the US, my pharmacist said, do you know how much this costs? I was shocked to find out my cost is zero, but they are charging my insurance company $9,000 a month for 3 mg Rayos a night)!  That is unbelievable and very upsetting. No wonder our insurance costs are going up like crazy every year.  I'm considering waking up at 2am and just taking pred which in comparison costs like $12 a month.  This is outrageous.

My pharmacist tells me that it is the drug manufacturer, but their company also adds on and inflates the price.  This is just one small example of what is wrong with our system in America.  Again, I am grateful for my excellent teacher's insurance!

If the Pharmacy has to buy the drugs then of course they have to charge more than they paid for it. But I do not believe the pharmacies are the problem, from all I have read and seen, the problem is Big Pharma. The greed in America today is totally out of control, but the pendulum will swing the other way!
