I'm 23 and a new mom, been in a faithful relationship for 3 years now. My last relationship was not so great, though, as my ex had cheated on me the whole 3 years we were together. I got tested for everything afterwards and the only thing that came back positive was HPV. I’ve never had any warts so I never knew. So there’s my history on testing and symptoms. But, every couple of months I would get a single bump on my left labia, almost in the same spot every time, and it would last about a week to a week and a half. I always assumed it was an ingrown hair since it was usually always a few days after shaving. Flash forward to when I got pregnant, it’s routine to check for STD/STI’s and again the only thing that came back positive was HPV. Still sometimes always got that ONE bump every so often that would be painful, itchy, and burn when I peed. Never thought anything of it until now, when I started to get the bump again except this time when I looked at it, it wasn’t one bump, it was a lot, and they’re painful. It hurts to walk and my labia is very swollen and tender. And this time I hadn’t shaved in about 2 weeks so I knew it wasn’t ingrown hairs. I’m freaking out and depressed, since these definitely do not feel or look like how HPV warts are described. These are white and fluid filled. I’m a mess and can’t stop crying. I recently lost my medical insurance and can’t afford a doctor. I do plan on being seen as soon as I can, but right now I really need some reassurance. I’m obsessively washing my hands to the point where they’re dry and hurting because I’m paranoid I’ll accidentally give it to my son or my fiancé, I truly am a mess.. could it be anything other than herpes?

yeah thats why I was confused because HPV keeps coming up positive and hsv keeps coming negative, I KNOW for a fact thats not what hpv warts look like. I dont know how I'm going to tell my fiance, it was bad enough when we found out I had HPV, he's going to think I cheated on him or something and i'm terrified of losing my family.

u could have it for years and not known u ideally need to be 100% sure and have them swabbed as soon as possible whilst there still there

It can take months for herpes antibodies to be produced by the body and show up in the blood, and that's what it blood tests look for. Explain that to your fiance and hopefully he'll understand.
