PID treatment in male

Hello, just recently my girlfriend was having symptoms of appendicitis, she was administered drugs for two week. Supposedly surprisingly when she went back to see the same doctor, after carrying out some tests and checking through her vaginas, he says she's suffering Pelvic inflammatory Disease. I would like to seek advice here on what to do next. She says I could take the same injections that she's taking, but it's pretty expensive. I was thinking I could run a test to see if I have PID prior that. Or do you think I should proceed with medications. Your advice is aporeciated
