Pierced Ear may be infected or reaction to antiseptic?

I got my ear pierced a week ago today and soon after i put on a new antiseptic wash, my ear became yellow and the skin went hard. The yellow is not around the piercing opening itself but around the ear lobe. I have attached a picture to show you. Is it an infection or is the antiseptic the cause of the skin condition? I have since started using tcp and the ear is feeling great with no pain but the yellow skin is still there.

I suggest that you see your GP. Usually when you clean the newly pierced ear, you turn the ear ring when you clean it to stop it sticking, as you sometimes get a little discharge. I would always recommend warm salt water to clean. But if it is the whole of the ear lobe, then it sounds like an infection has set in.
