Pilates?

Does anyone know if it is ok to use a pilates exercise machine.  I know it is very gentle and it elongates the muscles.  Would appreciate any information. Thanks and a very happy new year to everyone on this site.

Hello Pat:  After many months of testing I was diagnosed with Pmr september 2014. My dr. Started me on 15 mg pres. Daily. After 3 mo 10 mg.  after. 2 mo. 7 1/2 mg. I'm now on 5 mg.  I take Pilates 2 days a week & physical therapy 2 days week. Easy Stretching is the key.  Resting is the key. Not all of my days are great. But Im trying.

Hi Rita, Thank you so much for your input.  I am a newbie as well, my PMR was undiagnosed for 6 months my gp and myself were going down the road of ME which I have had for 14 years so thought that's what it was, until the pain grew worse and I had very little mobility.  I also know now that I had undiagnosed GCA but I was very lucky and fortunate that I am ok now.  This is my first reduction from 20mg to 17.5mg so fingers crossed.

My new Pilates machine and stand arrived yesterday and they are still in their boxes, when I am ready I will get my son to get it together and move it upstairs for me.  I want to do some easy stretching on my Pilates and strenghen my core which in turn will help everywhere else lol

Thanks again for all the info, much appreciated.
