    Hi again Rob

I used to split my pills when I’d been on the meds a long time and decided to reduce to a maintenance dose, so I split a 20mg in half and took 10mg a day. Worked well for me and did that for many years (plus I got more meds for my money). I also split them when I was withdrawing - I did 20 / 15 / 10 / 5 / 1.5 / 1.25.

You don’t always get a perfectly even amount in both pieces, but what’s a few mg’s (unless you’re super super super sensitive).

When I split the 5mg it was too weeny to cut so I used to crush it then divide the powder either in half or quarters. My cutter had a crusher at one end. Sometimes it seemed just to be a few grains.

I have read about not cutting up medication but I never had a problem with it and it served me well.

Are you 10 weeks from the very start up or since increasing to 15mg?

      hi kate

      thanks for reply

im at a real crossroads at minute

i took 10 mg for 4 weeks - felt ok

i took 20 mg for 5 months - not great

dropped to 15 mg for 10 weeks - last week has been awful - dereslization , like im in a bubble

i was good for ages but last week......

      .....crash!!

i want to go to 10 mg

you know when you just think its too strong.......foggy head, numb in certain situations & just feel out of sorts.

it was my decision to jump to 20 mg so quickly, i have a great doctor & she advised me not too but i went ahead anyway!!!!!!

i can remember going out for a meal with friends at 4-5 weeks and felt fab, calm and relaxed, best ive felt for a long time.

your advice would be so appreacited

      kate

      many thanks

    Hi Rob!

    How are u now?

I'm on my 15 weeks on citalopram 10mg , so far working great. I can say i'm back to normal now.. also i haven't used benzo for a month already. I used to take benzo when i couldn't sleep and i feel anxious..I started 10mg for 2 weeks then upped to 20mg for a month...but during those times i was on 20mg, i couldnt sleep..no sex drive, and always have headaches. I asked my doctor if i could reduced to 10mg . He said if i felt better on 10mg then go for it. Since then i'm doing great. I'm back to work now.

      hi thez1234

thats great youve found your dose & you feel loads better!

really happy to hear, did you find 20 too strong?

i dont want to split, you never get the same dose eveyday.

i agree on 15-20 it affects a few things!!!!!!

how long did it take you to settle on 10 ?

      thanks for reply

      glad your good

Hi Rob! Yes felt like i was drugged when I was at 20mg. I would say I am lucky not to experience a lot of start-up or withdrawal effects when i went down to 10mg. When i was at 3 weeks on 10mgs that I started feeling better. The plugged ears started to clear at that time. Now i'm back to work full time and its just getting better and better! Prayers helped too! There are a lot of people praying for me. I am just so blesses to have them. 
