I don't have the same but I am learning that most ankle injuries requiring surgery have nerve damage. I'm 17 weeks on from broken fibula and fractured tibia still unsteady on my foot still can't lift my heal still have pain after mobility. The fracture hurts more than the break can occasionally feel plate and screws by X-rays bones have healed well. Wound just healed but very tender. It's a darn long haul and I'm told I'm doing very well. I hope you get some answers and welcome to the club nobody wants to be in. I've had a lot of support on here and hope you get the same. Take it easy. Jenni.

What rom exercises did they start you on in physical therapy? I have very tight and shiny skin and very stiff ankle. Is that something you experienced or anyone else? Thank you so very much!

Are you using a Even Up Shoe or equivalent to keep your body straight when in boot.the secondary injuries are high to back hips knees from walking uneven. Also I have very sore hands and wrists from crutches and wheelchair. I've had very little pysio due to my lack of trust with on of them trying to get me to jump with a walking frame 3 days after break. I'm 60 yrs old a bit overweight and no way could I do it the pain was unbearable. I've got most of my instruction from you tube. And my gp is very informative. I started with a private pysio last week and working on tiptoeing. I found in early days was good to exersize foot in bowl of warm water also helped with shedding skin.

After 5months I still get discolouration after a day at work I'm a bit swollen and bruised. Dr says it's normal. And in mornings I feel like I need someone to lift my injured leg. Your out of boot now are you. Just be mindful if you get pain in calf muscle get it checked. Since getting back to work I have unusual reddening of my shin and get very hot and skin dries out. All I can say is "I'm totally over this crappy injury" im calling it ny semi perm
