I agree with Rocky - it looks like a stye - I have the second one in my life on the lower lid and mine while somewhat smaller than yours but similar appears,  is very red. I have been to the surgery and seen a doctor and unfortunately there is nothing much you can do but wait as they take around 6 months to clear.

If it causes you pain then go and see a Doc but otherwise be patient.

Just to add - they were not worried about the stye and no treatment was offered or available so possibly pointless going to a Pharmacy but never confuse a similar lump on the eyeld that turns brown even if small as my Mum had one and it did turn out to be serious and needed to be removed but it was while needed - a simple operation under local annaesthetic.

Should not take that longto clear. It may be a simple cyst that can be easily removed and thus prevent irritation to the eye.

sorry Kate did not see your second posting. I garee it should be investigated and removed. It may be something simple but surely a stye would not take that long to clear up?

I would get something done about it due to the irritation to the eye and its appearance. Surely  a decent dr or ophthalmologist would agree!  Xxxxx

It is more likely to be a simple cyst. However consult an opthalmologist if it can be safely removed. preferably it should be removed as it may increase in size. Even otherwise doesn't look nice to be on a prominent location.

ave had something very similar.  Did you know that we all have 50 little oil ducts near the upper lashline and 25 near the lower one?  In addition, of course, we have the lash follicles themselves.  I was told that mine was a blocked lash follicle.  I used warm compresses, followed by a few drops of baby shampoo in warm water, and a cotton bud (Q-tip) dipped in the solution, until it eventually popped and went away.

You could try this for a while, but it sounds as though you have had this condition for some time.  If it doesn't shift, I would ask to be referred on.
