Well it's been 6 months since I had my TRHR I have recenlty noticed I am getting pins and needles all the way down into my foot when only laying on it for a min or two. I also have noticed that I can't get comfortable on my non operated leg my more, feeling discomfort.

Finally has anyone got numbness down one side of their scar area?

I'm at seven weeks.  Still have some numbness around the scar, but having spoken to my wife, she still has some numbess around her Caeserean scar, from over nine years ago.

I have been lucky in terms of discomfort, my left leg is fine the majority of the time.  I do experience a little discomfort if I overdo it, but otherwise it is OK.

Hi Nettie I had bilateral hip replacements in 2012 and starting about the 4 month mark I started to develop low back pain and pins and needles in my right leg. I went to the Dr and was told everything was fine and it was common. Well it steadily got worse over then next several months and was put on gabapentin for nerve pain. That seemed to help for a little bit but not long and got worse and worse. Then about a yr ago I went to see a neurologist and he did a nerve conduction test on me that showed drastic loss of nerve function in my sciatic nerve in both legs. On the 13th of this month I'm having a neurostimulator implanted in me which helps with the nerve pain but doesn't fix it. By the time they found out what was wrong with me it was to late and permanent damage was done.

If I were you I would go see a neurologist soon just to make sure the same thing isn't happening to you. As far as my scares they are still numb to the touch and it's been 4 yrs.

Praying they can figure out what is wrong with you and fix it before you have any lasting effects.

I've just got home from seeing my surgeon after my 6 week check and she asked me whether I had pins and needles down my leg or foot. I don't actually have this so I had no need to ask her why, but I think it might be something you should address with either your surgeon or your own GP.

Yes to all of the above. The explanation was that the needles you feel is due to the nerves regeneration and it will go away eventually at differing times for each person. The numbness is also said to be normal. My PT said there is a band that runs from your hip past your thigh. Massage it and it's better when someone does it for you. Massage therapist did an amazing job for me - massage up and down - the length of the incision.

    Hi nattie

I am 8 months post op and I've had pins and needles in my foot all the time. They told me at the beginning that it could be expected.  Then at my 7 week check they said it was plantar fasciitis.  I kept insisting it was a nerve problem.

I have eventually got them to agree to send me for a nerve conduction test. I'm still waiting for the appointment.  I think you should go to the doctors and have it checked out.

    wishing you luck Brenda C
