Pins and Needles / Tingling in ear...

Hello

For a few days I have noticed that every so often (every 5, 10 or 15 minutes) I suddenly get a pins and needles feeling inside my ear, and it spreads to the outside. It is itchy and uncomfortable and my ear goes slightly numb when it happens. I have also had a bit of minor pain and a bit of Tinnitus. When I am doing something, exercising or concentrating on something it doesn't happen. Is this most likely an ear infection and how long would it take to disappear?

P.S. I stupidly Googled it and are worrying myself silly that I have something like Sensory Nerve Damage or MS....
