    Hi Deb,

I'm afraid to say that yes payment can stop before you've recieved a decision. This is because sometimes letters from DWP can take awhile to reach us, sometime 7+working days. The mostly likely explanation would be that a decision has been made, they've sent a letter out to you but you haven't yet recieved it and they've stopped your money before the letter has reached you. When was your payment supposed to be?

I hope for you that i'm wrong but i would advice that you ring PIP when they open this morning and ask if a decision has been made. You can then ask about your payment. Good luck and please let us know what happens.

I'm sorry to hear this Deb,

Were you getting Enhanced mobility? If you were and have a car through motability then this will need to be returned and they'll be in contact with you soon.

If you want to challange this decision you have 1 month from the date on the letter to as fot a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) ring the to start this off but then put it in writing. Sending any extra evidence is good. If you haven't asked for a copy of the assessment report please do this as soon as possible by ringing PIP. When asking for the MR you'll need to concentrate on those desciptors that appy to you.

Most MR decisions remain the same so if you're taking this route then be prepared to take it to Tribunal. Also another thing to bear in mind is that they will look at the whole award again, so it can either stay the same, increase or it's even possible for you to lose everything. Good luck what ever you decide to do.

Hello Deb, While I was waiting for the decision for the outcome of my medical for PIP my money was also stopped. I phoned the DWP & told them & they did start the payments again. If you havn't already, try phoning the DWP & explan your situation. Good luck.  smile

      Hi Mary,

Were you transfering from DLA? The reason i ask because it's unusual for money to stop when it's just a review.

Hello Denise, Yes I was transfering from DLA to PIP.  When I phoned the DWP they told me that they didn't know why my money had stopped & that it would be in my bank in 5 working days. I asked why I should have to wait 5 working days to receive my money when it was an error on their part. She said that it was their procedure. I told her I was not prepared to wait 5 working days due to their incompetence & could she transfer me to someon who could help deal with the situation. I was then transferred to a man who was very understanding. I told him that I knew they could make the payment which had been due to me 3 days earlier in a matter of minutes. He looked into the matter & I was paid that day.  lol

      Hi,

Yes i thought it may have been because you were transfering over. It can happen sometimes with that. Deb isn't transfering over as she was claiming PIP before the review so i'm guessing the reason her payment hasn't been made is a different reason.

I was so angry because of their incompentince.  There was no way they were going to get away with this.
