My Pip is due to be assessed in March 31st finishes March 2021 have I got it right it's now 6mths instead of a year before they assesses you again

Yes, 6 months before and not 12 months.

Yes you can but it rarely happens with PIP, this applies more to ESA. For PIP reviews take place 6 months before the award is due to end, as advised.
