Pip.. long old process

Hi, so.. I applied for a new claim for pip the beginning of march, I had my f2f on 18th May , the assessor report was received by DWP on 9th of June. I've called a few times and have been told each time that it was with the DM, anyway I've called today and the lady said that the DM sent the report back to Capita and it was returned to DWP yesterday. I've asked for the copy of the new report to compare. Is this something that happens often?

Hi,
Yes i've heard it happening quite a few times. They'll do that if they need them to check things before making a decision. Did you have a copy of the original report? Normally they don't write a new report, well not that i know of anyway. Usually the DM will go with what was said and award the same points that was given on the report. If they do against the report then it's very rare. As you only applied for PIP in March this year then your time is actually very fast! When i first applied over 3 years ago i waited 11 months for the assessment. Was awarded standard for both and had almost 1 year back dated money. So the waiting times have decreased drastically since then.

Good morning, I did have the original report last week, the points from the tick boxes didn't look good but the comments seem to contradict it, for example I got a tick for being able to bath unaided (sorry can't remember the exact wording) yet he says due to the risk of seizures I need supervision, the lady said that the report had been returned so I asked if it was different and she wasn't sure. You waiting that long waiting wow ! That must of felt like a lifetime

You need at least 8 points for an award. I recently heard of someone that had a PIP assessment and got the report back. The report suggested Standard for Daily living and Enhanced for mobility. On the report it suggested that this person needed help for something (can't remember what) BUT the points that were scored were zero, even though it should have been 4 points. The report was sent back to ATOS but returning awarding the same points. The award given by the DM was the same award adviced by the HCP. Hopefully this won't happen to you. If the decision doesn't go in your favour and you need to as for the Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) please do come back for advice.
Yes it was a lifetime for sure!

Thank you, I'm keeping everything crossed but I'm in the mindset of a no so that's kind of taken the worry out of it.
