    Hi Mel,

Sometimes PIP awards have an end date and if they do then DWP will write you to approx 3 months before the award is due to end, asking you what that letter is asking you to do.

There's also PIP awards that are reviewed 1 year before the award is due to end, for this DWP send a renewal form.

Did you have to take your currect PIP award to Tribunal?

Either way, you now must do as the letter asks if you want to continue with the PIP. You must ring DWP and tell them you want to apply again, they will then send you another PIP2 form, like the first time. You must fill this in, return it with all the evidence by the date stated on the letter.

No one has another assessment without first filling in a form, whether it's a PIP2 or a renewal form. Expect another assessment, like the first time as most people have these. It's rare not to have one.

If a decision hasn't been made by the date your PIP is due to end then it will end on that date, you will not get paid while you wait for a decision. Hopefully you'll have the assessment and a decision will be made before your award ends. If the award ends before a deicison is made, if a decision goes in your favour then you'll be back dated the money from the date the award stopped.

I would ring DWP as soon as possible, if you wish to claim again. Good luck.

      Hi Mel,

you may nor realise it, but you have listed this thread twice and I left a reply on the other thread.  This may complicate things if people answer on both threads, maybe you could ask a moderator to delete the other one.   smile

      Hi Mel,

You're welcome. I thought maybe you went to Tribunal because they usually give ends dates to awards rather than review dates.

Remember that the form they send will be the same as the first time you applied. Gather as much evidence as possible to prove those descriptors apply to you and send it with the form. If you need extra time you can rng and ask and they will give you 14 days extra, if needed. Only send copies of the evidence.

If you need help with flling the form out i'd advice ringing your local CAB or disability advice centre ASAP because they're often very busy and time isn't on your hands. Good luck and please do come back and tell us the outcome.

I do believe you have to make a fresh application after your award has ended. They are trying their best to cause misery and worry to the sick and disabled, rather than going after tax dodgers!!!!

      Hi Lisa,

That's incorrect advice. As stated in my above post those that have ends dates for PIP awards will be contacted 3 months before their award ends.
