PIP review

I got PIP enhanced both in 2016, award ends 21 May 2019. What date will I get review form. I am away 29th April to 11th May this year. If my review form arrives when I am away, how do I ring for an extension to fill form in. Do they check Facebook and whatsapp. My name on FB is different to the official name that DWP has for me and they do not have my mobile number. Would they need this to check my whatsapp messages. Thanks Joan

    Hi Joan,

I just replied on your other comment, so will copy and paste it here now.

Review forms are sent to you 1 year before your award is due to end, so it will be around 19th give or take that you'll receive the form.

If it arrives while you're away then how will you know it's arrived? Unless you have someone that checks and opens your mail. If it does arrive in that time then you have 1 month to return it along with all your evidence. This will give you plenty of time to ring and ask for the extra time. They will give you a maximum 14 days, they can sometimes give longer depending on your reasons for wanting it. I'd advice you to start to gather all your evidence now as you won't have much time once you receive those forms, especially as you're away on holiday.

They don't check social media and i'm not sure why you think they would, at least not for this reason. It's possible they check if they suspect someone is commiting fraud but otherwise no.

Expect to have another assessment as it's rare not to even with a review. The process this time is exactly the same as the first time you applied. Good luck.

Hi Joan, yep Denise is right they don't get WhatsApp or text messages but I do know they scan face book and probably Twitter ect their was a lady posted on Facebook a couple of year ago regarding her holiday and showed lots of pics of all the exciting things she had participated in, obviously lots of things she couldn't do on her pip application, you guessed it she lost her car etc.

They find people with their IP address as well so having a different name doesn't stop someone finding you if they can be bothered,

Did they suspect fraud was involved by this lady before they looked at facebook? I've heard they look for this reason but never heard of them just looking randomly without any reason. Just seems a little odd to me.

To be honest I have no idea but it was on the news, probably someone snitched on her will go look see if I can find it again, I did see the one about the man break dancing on TV thought that was funny

LOL most likely they are the ones that have been reported for fraud. I really can't see that DWP would just randomly search facebook for claimants. It's quite funny though.

All I can say is it's wierd how people like that get through and genuine ones are rejected, years pretending that he was a paraplegic and caught pushing his wife around in a wheelchair 🤔🤔
