I am due to have hearing in regards to my PIP as it has gone to tribunal stage now

I have had a couple of falls recently due to my medical conditions and I was wondering as I have fallen and people have seen me fall would it be a good idea to get a witness testimony of them to send to the tribunal people or take them with me when i get my hearing , will they take them into account or not

thank you in advance for the advice

Hi I think that this will be seen as a change of circumstances if you contact pip and it could begin your claim again, I could be wrong but Denise will be about and will put us both right 😂

As for taking someone with you to the hearing to bear witness I don't know that that's how it works as I don't think it's like a criminal court

You could maybe amass more information to take with you from consultant etc

You say you have had falls, have you had to attend A&E where their any fractures

    Hi,

Witness? testimony? It's not a court and you're certainly not on trial here. It's a benefit Tribunal with 3 or 4 people sat around a table. You do not need to take people with you to the hearing to act as a witness for anything.

The Tribunal will only take into consideration what your condition was like at the time the originial decision was made. A worsening of condition will not be taken into consideration and because the falls happened after the original decision was made then i'm afraid they won't help your claim.

During the hearing, although you can take someone with you, a family member or a friend, the panel will expect you to speak for yourself because the only person that knows how your conditions affect you is yourself.
