I think this is normal to begin with. Low Cortisol is fairly unusual and not well understood. I had a pituitary adenoma which caused my low Cortisol and not many people had heard of a pituitary gland let alone Cortisol and its effects. So it may take time for your family to come to terms with your condition and what it means. Talk it through with them and how it makes you feel....

The Pituitary Foundation (pituitary DOT org DOT uk) has some material on the issues for family, friends and work colleagues.

Not that I'm saying that you have pituitary disease for sure - don't trust me, I'm not a doctor! But very low (tens?) cortisol but normal ACTH is a very strange combination - its as if your pituitary (or hypothalmus) is not noticing the low cortisol and so not doing anything about it.
