Pityriasis rosea! I hate it!

I found a mother patch 2weeks ago. I thought it was a bug bite. No big deal and I left it. About 10 days later I start seeing likttle rashes and lil dots on my arm and groin area.  So I put some cortisone and didn’t help. Few days later got worse. So I went to quick care and dr said it was pR.

Never heard of it before. And like all the drs. I was told to wait it out. It would last 4-6weeks. But come on ! This is crazy. I can’t live like this for 4-6weeks!!

Hen I came home and start searching about his rash.  And read more scary stories. Not sure if their considtion was bad like mine but some had it for 14months? I started using  head and shoulder shampoo as my body wash. It burns and feels like it’s making my rash worse at first. Gets all red and pointy. But seems like it worked for everyone so I’m trying it. Doing oatmeal bath. Prreze cream is on the way. Should be delivered in few days. Taking vitamin c , b12. Taking Benadryl for itch and dr prescribed me acyclovir 400mg. Not sure if it’s working but still taking it. I’m really hoping for a best. I really hope that prreze cream will work. It’s so embarrassing.  Don’t even want my wife to see my body. I really wanted to go see a dermatologist for second opinion and they might know what can help me but I can’t find any dermatologist that’s available. Earliest I can find was 2 weeks from now on.  I live in Las Vegas NV. USA

Worst medical ever!!! But reading lot of post on here makes me feel better and I’m not alone. This rash really brings people down I think. I missed work 2days already.

I just want to share my story.  I hope it’ll go away soon so I can help others on this fourm too.

Poor baby!!!! Yes, I am the one who had PR for 14 months. Normally 6 to 12 weeks, but I was "special". I certainly did not want to be special. Prreze did it for me! Let us know how you are doing.

      Thank you.

I just got a 2nd opinion from a different dr. He confirmed it too. He looked at my rash and said “looks like it’s not gonna get any worse. “

I hope so. I really hope it’s gonna get better. I never felt like this. I goto the gym 5-6 days a week. And I’m a very confident person. But this PR took everything away. Don’t even feel like myself anymore. And it’s only been 2-3weeks since my herald patch showed up. I know it’s a long fight. I start seeing some on my neck too. So there’s no way to cover it while I’m working. This is just living hell!

Don't worry. I am in the same boat as you. I have not been to the gym for the last two months. My PR is in the last stage. I get irritation in my arms where the rashes are still visible, when I do anything that would increase my body temperature. I hoping for it to stop in a week or so.

Take it light. Don't stress yourself too much. Eat healthy and drink lots of water.

      Thank you uzamaki.

This sucks. I keep thinking why me? I just want my life back.  I’ve always wanted more and be better at everything. This PR is giving me a lesson of life? Now I got my clean skin taken away from me and I feel like I lost everything. Don’t even feel like myself.

I’be been taking lot of naps during the day. Trying to fight this virus!good luck everyone.

Don't worry about not getting your clean skin back. The rashes would totally disappear and the skin would be back in it's full glow again. Don't scratch the rashes. Mine was extremely itchy. I had my nails cut everyday so not to scratch the rashes even while asleep. Think of this as a long medical leave smile. Enjoy sleeping and some netflix smile.

      Thanks.

I’m going to work today. Gotta wear long sleeve shirt. Hopefully my neck won’t look too bad. I’ll be receiving my. Prreze cream tonight. Hopefully this cream will do magic.
