Pityriasis rosea the worst ever rash, freeze them best way!

Hello and oh boy do i hate this so called Pityriasis rosea , is there really a definition to this illness? i think not apart from the pointless facts we get on the internet that u will feel ill and itch like a flee ridden dog! then you carry on reading and you get to the treatment bit and you get all excited that what cream can i put on this horrid thing and it says \"NO TREATMENT\" and your like nooooooooooo, well i have had mine for 7 days now and its annoying me to the point where i could strip my skin off! itching is awful, i find the best cream at the moment is EURAX cream and when i get too hot and sore i go into my freezer and pull out the plastic tray that is full of frozen ice and rub it all over, it helps ahhh relief! i didnt even know it started until last sunday when i got out of a hot shower and saw loads of spots all over my stomach and chest, i then went doctors and he diagnosed me with this horrid thing! it has spread to my arms and legs and lower neck i hate it! I ALSO DISAGREE WITH THE DOCTORS AND INTERNET, I THINK IT IS CONTAGIOUS AS MY DAD HAD A RASH AND SO DID HIS PARTNER AND I GOT IT FROM THEM!!! GRRR GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU AND MYSELF!!!

    i know exactly how u feel about stripin ur skin off...i only been disgnosed on monday after i noticed spots on my neck and chest, at first i though it was chicken pox as i never actually had it before but i never had this stupid thing called pityriasis rosea and i never actually heard of it before.

    doctor gave me this cream and tablets,it hasnt done a fing to the skin and it feels like it burnin. worse part is the more where you scratching causes more itching, which causes more scratching,which causes more itching and than u dont no wot to do with myself. how do u get to sleep wivout scratchin urself to death or is there nothing to be done.

    had it since nov 8th myself, and still going through the redness/flakiness stage, which is supposed to be the end but have new ones on my face this week....

    different things work for different people, and I itch on and of, no particular pattern. When I'm itchy I use allergy relief tablets. it prevents me from scratching myself to death!

    Hi French gal

    If the cream your doctor has given you is making it worse, stop using it. There is NO proven treatment and you could be making it worse. Anything that results in your skin \"burning\" is probably not working how it should.

    If your skin needs soothing, try camomile or E45 cream. Stop using the other stuff, it won't speed up your recovery anyway.

    RE the itching, as jellie-baby said, anti-histamines for allergies will help.
