Places to stay for a holiday in the UK whilst living on oxygen

Posted , 6 users are following.

i am looking to have a break away from home but as I am on oxygen therapy 24/7 and therefore need to have access for my concentrator as well as my lox refill tank for my portable oxygen supply.

I am wondering if anyone has done this and could give me recommendations of how to organise and where to go that can accommodate me with my condition and requirements.

has anyone got any previous places they have stayed and would recommend ?

I ahve only recently been prescribed oxygen (amulatory only with small refillable tanks).  The supplier came last week with my first delivery and gave me a very informative booklet "Holiday and Travel Information for Oxygen users".  My supplier is Air Liquide and I beleive the others in England are Air Products and BOC.  Maybe if you contact yoiuyr supplier they will have a copy of the booklet.  It also has a section on Foreign travel.

Good luck, and I look forweard to reading other responses as it is a topical subject .

Hi ,I know nothing about using oxygen at home or away as I haven't been told I need it ,,,,,yet ,but if you are holidaying in the UK and want to stay self catering I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND Devon hills Lodges at Paignton South Devon ,they are beautiful ,well equipped ,some have a private hot tub ,all have decking ,I can no longer go abroad  by air as my oxygen levels drop too much even with oxygen ,and I'm afraid of water ,so UK it is for me ,for the last few years ,my daughter my grandaughter and I have stayed at Devon hills and we've had a lovely holiday ,first class every thing you could need and they are spotless ,,,a bit more expensive ,,but well worth it ,

as for flying abroad when I could ,we used to fly with Monarch air lines ,they provided the oxygen for my flight ( at a cost of £180 ) I was treated exceptional well by the stewardess's and asked to board the flight and settle in with the oxygen set up for me before any other passengers boarded, yes other air lines are good ,but I personally found monarch to be the best ,,for my needs ,some air lines let you take your own oxygen but you will need to have a fit to fly letter from your GP dated no more than 7 days before flight,

either way I hope you have an amazing holiday ,,,oh and I can reccomend the Hotel  Princess Aplaya in Cala n boch Menorca ,it's beautiful ,

Hi, are you frOn the UK? If so you can get your prescription of oxygen wherever you stay also if you are from the EU. You just have to order it ahead from your supplier and they will deliver in advance to your holiday address and collect at the end. We have has concentrators and portable tanks delivered to hotels, chalets and private houses both here in the UK and Spain for up to 4 weeks stay. The service has been brilliant and free! Good luck.
