    Hello Conker

I don't think you've ruptured it, perhaps your husband was a bit over-enthusiastic with his rubbing.  I went for a long walk yesterday, walking fast for a couple of minutes then slow for a couple of minutes and I'm pleased to say that I didn't suffer any more than usual so I intend to do it again in a couple of days.  Getting back to your pain, take some paracetamol and if it's still throbbing after a couple of days by all means go and see the doc, it might be more than PF.

Hi, I'm new to this forum but I'm desperate for advice. My right heel has got increasingly painful over the past 5 weeks and now the pain radiates up my calf and into my knee. My Dr said it was PF, said gel inserts and ibuprofen would work but I'm waking up crying in pain at night. Has anyone had pain symptoms that radiate out like this? Any advice hugely appreciated. Thank you.

      Hi becky

You could try fill a small bottle of water and freeze it then roll it under your foot

      Hello Beckymay

At first, when you mentioned heel pain, I thought it was PF for sure, but the other symptoms - calf and knee pain - just doesn't fit with PF.  It could be that you are walking differently BECAUSE of the pain in the heel so take the maximum amount of painkillers allowed for a few weeks and see how it goes.  If after a few weeks you are still in awful pain, please go back to your GP, he might want to investigate further.

Thank you so much. I agree that the radiating pain doesn't seem to fit and its worrying me. I do walk barefoot a lot and wear flimsy flats so I'm going to try the insets and pain meds but if the radiating pain keeps up I'm off to the dr again! Thank you for replying.
